Last Man Standing is a 1996 English-language Action Crime motion picture written by Ryûzô Kikushima, Akira Kurosawa and Walter Hill. The movie is directed by Walter Hill and produced by Walter Hill and Arthur M. Sarkissian under the banner of Eclipse Catering in collaboration with Lone Wolf and New Line Cinema. A drifting gunslinger-for-hire finds himself in the middle of an ongoing war between the Irish and Italian mafia in a Prohibition era ghost town. Last man standing stars Bruce Willis in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Christopher Walken, Alexandra Powers, David Patrick Kelly, Karina Lombard, Bruce Dern and William Sanderson. The screenplay is written by Walter Hill which is inspired from Yojimbo by Ry z Kikushima Akira Kurosawa. The music was composed by Ry Cooder. Cinematography was done by Lloyd Ahern and editing by Freeman A. Davies. The motion picture has a running time of 101 minutes. Last Man Standing was made on a budget of $67 million and at the box office it grossed only $47 million. Distribution rights for the movie were acquired by New Line Cinema.
