Le Mans is a 1971 English-language Sport Action show written by Harry Kleiner and directed by Lee H. Katzin and produced by Jack N. Reddish under the banner of Cinema Center Films. Le mans stars Steve Mcqueen in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Siegfried Rauch, Elga Andersen, Ronald Leigh-hunt, Fred Haltiner, Luc Merenda and Christopher Waite. The music was composed by Michel Legrand. Cinematography was done by Ren Guissart Jr. and Robert B. Hauser and editing by Ghislaine Desjonqu res, Donald W. Ernst and John Woodcock. The series has a running time of 106 minutes for each episode. It was released on 23rd June 1971. Le Mans was made on a budget of $7 million and at the box office it grossed only $5 million. Distribution rights for the show were acquired by National General Pictures. Almost in breadth and depth of a documentary, this movie depicts an auto race during the 70s on the world's hardest endurance course: Le Mans in France. The race goes over 24 hours on 13.4 kilometers of cordoned country road. Every few hours the two drivers per car alternate - but it's still a challenge for concentration and material. In the focus is the duel between the German Stahler in Ferrari 512LM and the American Delaney in Gulf Team Porsche 917.
