Leonard Cohen: Im Your Man is a 2005 English-language Documentary Biography movie written and directed by Lian Lunson and produced by Lian Lunson, Bruce Davey and Mel Gibson under the banner of Sundance Channel in collaboration with Horse Pictures. Legendary poet, singer/songwriter and alleged ladies man Leonard Cohen is interviewed in his L.A. home about his extraordinary life and times, interspersed with old footage from his private photo collection and lavish praise plus elaborately performed Cohen cover songs from a motley crew of colleague musicians, amongst whom Kate & Anna McGarrigle, Rufus & Martha Wainwright, Nick Cave, Jarvis Cocker and U2's Bono and The Edge. By way of dessert the latter two and their band mates even get to back up the man for a special performance of his own. Written by Swie Tio. Leonard cohen: im your man features Leonard Cohen, Perla Batalla, Bono, Nick Cave, Julie Christensen, Linda Thompson and Rennie Sparks. The movie is based on Came So Far for Beauty by Hal Willner. The music was composed by Leonard Cohen. Cinematography was done by Geoffrey Hall and John Pirozzi and editing by Mike Cahill. The film has a running time of 103 minutes. It was released on 28th July 2006. The movie made a box office gross of $1 million. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Lionsgate.
