Lootere is a 1993 Hindi-language Action Romance movie written by Dharmesh Darshan and Kamlesh Pandey. The movie is directed by Dharmesh Darshan and produced by Suneel Darshan. Police inspector Karan Srivastav and his colleague inspector Ali are investigating the murder of inspector Rane. They manage to locate an eyewitness who is a bar dancer named Anjali. When the perpetrators headed by Changez Lala learn about this, their objective is to silence Anjali forever. Karan takes Anjali to a safe place far away from the city. Matters take a turn for the worse one day when Karan is suspended from duty leaving the way all clear for Lala and his men to carry out their nefarious activities without any interference from the police. Written by Soumitra. Lootere stars Sunny Deol in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Juhi Chawla, Naseeruddin Shah, Pooja Bedi, Anupam Kher, Chunky Pandey and Ajit Vachani. The screenplay is written by Rajiv Kaul, and Praful Parekh. The music was composed by Viju Shah along with Anand-milind. Cinematography was done by W.B. Rao and editing by A. Muthu. It was released on 2nd April 1993. Distribution rights for the movie were acquired by Shree Krishna International.
