Love & Mercy is a 2014 English-language Biography Drama movie written by Oren Moverman, Michael A. Lerner, Brian Wilson and Michael Alan Lerner. The movie is directed by Bill Pohlad and produced by John Wells, Bill Pohlad and Claire Rudnick Polstein under the banner of Battle Mountain Films in collaboration with River Road Entertainment. In the 1960s, Beach Boys leader Brian Wilson struggles with emerging psychosis as he attempts to craft his avant-garde pop masterpiece. In the 1980s, he is a broken, confused man under the 24-hour watch of shady therapist Dr. Eugene Landy. Love & mercy features John Cusack in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Paul Dano, Elizabeth Banks, Paul Giamatti, Jake Abel, Kenny Wormald and Brett Davern. The music was composed by Atticus Ross. Cinematography was done by Robert Yeoman and editing by Dino Jons ter. The film has a running time of 121 minutes. It was released on 11th June 2015 and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. Love & Mercy was made on a budget of $10 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $28 million. Distribution rights for the movie were acquired by Lionsgate.
