Machete is a 2010 English-language Action Crime film written by Robert Rodriguez, Álvaro Rodríguez and Lvaro Rodriguez. The movie is directed by Ethan Maniquis and Robert Rodriguez and produced by Robert Rodriguez, Elizabeth Avell N and Rick Schwartz under the banner of Overnight Films in collaboration with Troublemaker Studios and Hyde Park Entertainment. After being set-up and betrayed by the man who hired him to assassinate a Texas Senator, an ex-Federale launches a brutal rampage of revenge against his former boss. Machete features Danny Trejo in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Steven Seagal, Michelle Rodriguez, Jeff Fahey, Cheech Marin, Lindsay Lohan and Don Johnson. The music was composed by Chingon. Cinematography was done by Jimmy Lindsey and editing by Robert Rodriguez and Rebecca Rodriguez. The film has a running time of 105 minutes. It was released on 2nd September 2010 in English and Spanish languages. The Film was successful at box office. Machete was made on a budget of $10 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $45 million. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by 20th Century Fox.
