Mansa Kanya is a 1991 Bengali-language Drama motion picture directed by Chris Weitz and produced by Bill Carraro and Deborah Forte under the banner of New Line Cinema in collaboration with Ingenious Film Partners and Scholastic Productions. Basi is born by Goddess Manasa's blessings. She has a special talent with snakes. She falls in love with Suman, the son of landlord. The landlord doesn't let his son marry Basi. He tortures both of them. In a twist of events, Basi ends up saving Suman's life and gaining her place in Suman's life.
