Story of Maratha soldiers during Kargil war where a son joins Indian Army after his father's death. Maratha battalion stars Mohanlal, Meena Durairaj, Devan, Jagadish, Laxmikant Berde, Ramesh Bhatkar and Deepak Shirke. The screenplay is written by J. Pallassery. The music was composed by Mohan Sithara. It was released on 2nd December 2000. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Aroma Release.
