Missiamma is a 1955 Tamil-language Drama movie written by Alur Chakrapani, Pingali Nagendra Rao and Thanjai N. Ramaiah Dass. The movie is directed by L. V. Prasad and produced by Alur Chakrapani, B Nagi Reddy, B. Nagi Reddy and Aluri Chakrapani under the banner of Vijaya Productions. A hilarious comedy about two unemployed college graduates from the city, who pretend to be a married couple, in order to find work as school teachers in a small village. Missiamma stars Gemini Ganesan in the title role along with an ensemble cast including K. A. Thangavelu, S. V. Ranga Rao, K. Sarangapani, M. N. Nambiar, V. M. Ezhumalai and A. Karunanidhi. The screenplay is written by Aluri Chakrapani which is inspired from Manmoyee Girls School by Rabindranath Maitra Detective by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. The music was composed by S. Rajeswara Rao. Cinematography was done by Marcus Bartley and editing by C. P. Jambulingam and G. Kalyanasundaram. The motion picture has a running time of 179 minutes. It was released on 14th February 1955. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by Vijaya Productions.
