Murder by Numbers is a 2002 English-language Crime Mystery film written by Tony Gayton and directed by Barbet Schroeder and produced by Barbet Schroeder under the banner of Castle Rock Entertainment. Two gifted high school students execute a perfect murder - then become engaged in an intellectual contest with a seasoned homicide detective. Murder by numbers features Sandra Bullock, Ryan Gosling, Michael Pitt, Agnes Bruckner, Chris Penn, R. D. Call and Valentin Siroon. The music was composed by Clint Mansell. Cinematography was done by Luciano Tovoli and editing by Lee Percy. The film has a running time of 120 minutes. It was released on 19th April 2002. Murder by Numbers was made on a budget of $50 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $56 million. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by Warner Bros. Pictures.
