My Family is a 1995 English-language Drama film directed by Gregory Nava and produced by Anna Thomas under the banner of American Playhouse in collaboration with American Zoetrope, Majestic Films International and Newcomb Productions. The film depicts three generations of a Mexican-American family who emigrated from Mexico and settled in East Los Angeles. My family stars Jimmy Smits in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Esai Morales, Eduardo Lopez Rojas, Jenny Gago, Elpidia Carrillo, Constance Marie and Edward James Olmos. The screenplay is written by Gregory Nava and Anna Thomas. The music was composed by Mark Mckenzie along with Pepe Vila. Cinematography was done by Edward Lachman and Jason Poteet and editing by Nancy Richardson. The movie has a running time of 126 minutes. It was released on 3rd May 1995. The Film was successful at box office. My Family was made on a budget of $3 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $11 million.
