Nagina is a 1986 Hindi-language Fantasy Romance film written by Jagmohan Kapoor, Ravi Kapoor, Achala Nagar and Dr. Achala Nagar. The movie is directed by Harmesh Malhotra and produced by Harmesh Malhotra under the banner of Emkay Enterprises. Twelve years ago, Shreenath's father was accused of murdering a woman and disappeared into the night. He hasn't been n since, and is now believed to be dead himself. Hoping to prove his father's innocence and discover his ultimate fate, Shreenath returns to the scene of the crime. He discovers that a crumbling mansion and its labyrinth of underground tunnels are the hunting grounds in a search for a ring containing the priceless Nagina stone. He also meets Mukta, a beautiful and enigmatic young woman. Can she help him unlock the mystery amongst the ghostly ruins? Written by L. Hamre. Nagina features Rishi Kapoor in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Komal Mahuvakar, Amrish Puri, Prem Chopra, Sridevi Kapoor, Roobini and Sushma Seth. The screenplay is written by Ravi Kapoor. The music was composed by Pyarelal Ramprasad Sharma along with Laxmikant Shantaram Kudalkar and Laxmikant-pyarelal. Cinematography was done by V. Durga Prasad and editing by Govind Dalwadi. It was released on 28th November 1986. The motion picture made a box office gross of ₹13 crore.
