Nayak: The Real Hero is a 2001 Hindi-language Drama Action movie written by Anurag Kashyap and S. Shankar. The movie is directed by S. Shankar and produced by A Raghuram, Am Rathnam and A. M. Rathnam under the banner of Sri Surya Movies. A remake of Shankar's 1999 Tamil-language film Mudhalvan, it focuses on Shivaji Rao Gaekwad , a television cameraman and, later, television presenter, who accidentally hears and records the conversation between the police with the Chief Minister of Maharashtra Balraj Chauhan to take an indifferent stand during riots triggered by a fight between college students and a bus driver.
