North Dallas Forty is a 1979 English-language Comedy Drama motion picture written by Peter Gent, Frank Yablans, Ted Kotcheff, Nancy Dowd and Rich Eustis. The movie is directed by Ted Kotcheff and produced by Frank Yablans under the banner of Regina Associates. A semi-fictional account of life as a professional Football (American-style) player. Loosely based on the Dallas Cowboys team of the early 1970s. North dallas forty features Nick Nolte, Mac Davis, Charles Durning, Dayle Haddon, Bo Svenson, John Matuszak and Michele Turner Wilson. The music was composed by John Scott. Cinematography was done by Paul Lohmann and editing by Jay Kamen. The film has a running time of 119 minutes. It was released on 3rd August 1979.
