Omoide no Mânî is a 2014 Japanese-language Comedy Animation movie directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi and produced by Yoshiaki Nishimura under the banner of Studio Ghibli. A 12-year-old girl is sent to the country for health reasons, where she meets an unlikely friend in the form of Marnie, a young girl with long, flowing blonde hair. As the friendship unravels it is possible that Marnie has closer ties to the protagonist than we might expect. Written by David On. Omoide no mânî features Sara Takatsuki in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Kasumi Arimura, Chris Stuckmann, Nanako Matsushima, Susumu Terajima, Toshie Negishi and Ryôko Moriyama. The screenplay is written by Masashi And , Keiko Niwa and Hiromasa Yonebayashi which is inspired from When Marnie Was There by Joan G. Robinson. The music was composed by Takatsugu Muramatsu. Cinematography was done by Atsushi Okuo and editing by Rie Matsubara. The film has a running time of 103 minutes. It was released on 19th July 2014. The Film was successful at box office.
