One-Eyed Jacks is a 1961 English-language Western Drama film directed by Marlon Brando and produced by Frank P. Rosenberg under the banner of Pennebaker Productions. Running from the law after a bank robbery in Mexico, Dad Longworth finds an opportunity to take the stolen gold and leave his partner Rio to be captured. Years later, Rio escapes from the prison where he has been since, and hunts down Dad for revenge. Dad is now a respectable sheriff in California, and has been living in fear of Rio's return. Written by Ken Yousten. One-eyed jacks features Marlon Brando, Karl Malden, Katy Jurado, Ben Johnson, Pina Pellicer, Slim Pickens and Mabel Smaney. The screenplay is written by Guy Trosper, Calder Willingham, Rod Serling and Sam Peckinpah which is inspired from The Authentic Death of Hendry Jones 1956 novel by Charles Neider. The music was composed by Hugo Friedhofer. Cinematography was done by Charles Lang and editing by Archie Marshek and Jack H. Lippiatt. The motion picture has a running time of 141 minutes. It was released on 30th March 1961 in English and Spanish languages. One-Eyed Jacks was made on a budget of $6 million and at the box office it grossed only $4 million. Distribution rights for the movie were acquired by Paramount Pictures.
