Padatik is a 1973 Hindi-language Drama motion picture written by Mrinal Sen, Ashish Burman and Ashish Barman. The movie is directed by Mrinal Sen and produced by Mrinal Sen and Mrinal Sen Productions. A political activist escapes the prison van and is sheltered in a posh apartment owned by a sensitive young woman. Padatik features Dhritiman Chatterjee in the lead role along with Simi Garewal, Bijon Bhattacharya, Pravash Sarkar, Pravas Sarkar, Jochon Dastidar, Ashima Sinha and Dhruba Mitra in supporting roles. The music was composed by Ananda Shankar. Cinematography was done by K. K. Mahajan. It was released on 1st August 1985. At the 1974 National Film Awards It won an award for Best Screenplay.
