Palegara is a 1996 Kannada-language Drama film directed by N. Omprakash Rao and produced by S. V. S. Chinni and M. K. Prakash under the banner of Sri Sai Subhadra Films. Narsimha, the village head bans one of his relatives from the village after he rapes a girl. Years later, his younger son is accused of a similar crime and the son has to prove his innocence. Palegara stars Ambareesh in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Khushbu, Srikanya, Ambarish, Kushboo, Nirosha Radha and Anandraj. The screenplay is written by N. Omprakash Rao.
