Parasite is a 2019 Korean-language motion picture directed by Bong Joon-ho and produced by Kwak Sin-ae, Moon Yang-kwon, Bong Yok-cho and Jang Young-hwan under the banner of Barunson E&A. It stars Song Kang-ho, Lee Sun-kyun, Cho Yeo-jeong, Choi Woo-shik, Park So-dam, and Jang Hye-jin and follows the members of a poor family who scheme to become employed by a wealthy family by infiltrating their household and posing as unrelated, highly qualified individuals. Parasite stars Song Kang-ho in the title role along with Lee Sun-kyun, Cho Yeo-jeong, Choi Woo-shik, Park So-dam, Lee Jung-eun and Jang Hye-jin in supporting roles. The screenplay is written by Bong Joon-ho and Han Jin-won. The music was composed by Jung Jae-il. Cinematography was done by Hong Kyung-pyo and editing by Yang Jin-mo. The film has a running time of 132 minutes. It was released on 31st January 2020. Parasite was made on a budget of $13 billion and at the box office it grossed only $205 million. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by CJ Entertainment.
