Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran is a 2018 historical Hindi action film co-written and directed by Abhishek Sharma and written by Saiwyn Qadras and Sanyuktha Chawla Sheikh. The film follows the secret operation carried out by an IAS officer and his team to develop and test nuclear weapons without the knowledge of the American agency. The Movie stars John Abraham in the lead role along with Boman Irani, Diana Penty, Zachary Coffin, Abhiroy Singh Cheema in supporting roles. It is based on the nuclear tests conducted by the Indian Army in 1988 in Pokhran, Rajasthan. It was produced by JA Entertainment, Zee Studios, and KYTA Productions and distributed by Pooja Entertainment. Aseem Mishra and Zubin Mistry handled the cinematography and Rameshwar S. Bhagat served as the editor. It features music composed by Jeet Ganguly and Sachin- Jigar and the background score was done by Sandeep Chowta. The film was initially slated to release on 8 December 2017 but due to conflicts between the producers, Abraham, and KriArj Entertainment, it was only released on 25th May 2018. It occupies a screen time of 129 minutes. The film which was made on a budget of ₹44 crores collected ₹91 crores at the box office. A U certificate was given to the film by the censor board.
