Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night is a 1987 English-language Animation Adventure film written by Robby London, Barry O'brien, Dennis O'flaherty and Carlo Collodi. The movie is directed by Hal Sutherland and produced by Lou Scheimer under the banner of Filmation. Pinocchio and his friends, a glow worm and a marionette, search for a magic music box. However, so is the evil Scalawag and the Emperor of the Night. Pinocchio and the emperor of the night stars Scott Grimes in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Tom Bosley, Edward Asner, Frank Welker, Jonathan Harris, James Earl Jones and William Windom. The movie is based on The Adventures of Pinocchio by Carlo Collodi. The music was composed by Brian Banks along with Anthony Marinelli, Barry Mann and Steve Tyrell. Editing was done by Rick Gehr and Jeffrey C. Patch. The motion picture has a running time of 87 minutes. It was released on 6th August 1987. Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night was made on a budget of $10 million and at the box office it grossed only $3 million. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by New World Pictures.
