Prathyartha is a 1999 Kannada-language Thriller movie directed by Sunil Kumar Desai and produced by G.v. Srinivas and B.g. Manjunath. A group of kidnappers demands to retrieve Akshay's daughter he has to murder the minister. Prathyartha stars Ramesh Aravind, Raghuvaran, Girish Karnad, Kiccha Sudeep, Avinash, Vinayak Joshi and Shivaram. The screenplay is written by Sunil Kumar Desai. The music was composed by National Award winner Ilaiyaraaja. Cinematography was done by H.C. Venu and editing by R. Janardhan. It was released on 2nd April 1999.
