Prince is a 1969 Hindi-language Musical Romance movie written by Abrar Alvi and directed by Lekh Tandon and produced by F. C. Mehra under the banner of Vijaya Studio in collaboration with Mehboob Studio. It is the story of a Prince who brought about his own downfall so that he may rise as a human being. Prince features Shammi Kapoor in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Ajit, Rajendra Nath, Vyjayanthimala Bali, Rajendra Nath Malhotra, Helen Richardson and Leela Chitnis. The music was composed by Shankar Jaikishan. Cinematography was done by Dwarka Divecha and editing by Pran Mehra. It was released on 1st January 1969. Prince was made on a budget of ₹37 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹19 crore. Distribution rights for the movie were acquired by Eagle Films.
