Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is a 2010 English-language Action Adventure film written by Boaz Yakin, Doug Miro, Carlo Bernard and Jordan Mechner. The movie is directed by Mike Newell and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. A young fugitive prince and princess must stop a villain who unknowingly threatens to destroy the world with a special dagger that enables the magic sand inside to reverse time. Prince of persia: the sands of time stars Jake Gyllenhaal in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Ben Kingsley, Gemma Arterton, Alfred Molina, Steve Toussaint, Toby Kebbell and Richard Coyle. The screenplay is written by Boaz Yakin, Doug Miro and Carlo Bernard which is inspired from Prince of Persia by Jordan Mechner. The music was composed by Harry Gregson-williams. Cinematography was done by John Seale and editing by Michael Kahn, Martin Walsh and Mick Audsley. The film has a running time of 116 minutes. It was released on 27th May 2010. The Film was successful at box office. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was made on a budget of $150 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $336 million. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Walt Disney Studios.
