Qissa is a 2013 Punjabi-language Drama Fantasy movie written by Anup Singh and Madhuja Mukherjee. The movie is directed by Anup Singh and produced by Johannes Rexin and Bettina Brokemper. Umber Singh is a Sikh who loses everything during the separation of India in 1947 and is forced to leave his homeland. He obsessively wishes for a male heir. When his fourth daughter is born, he decides to wage a fight against destiny. Qissa stars Irrfan Khan in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Tillotama Shome, Tisca Chopra, Rasika Dugal, Danish Akhtar, Sonia Bindra and Faezeh Jalali. The music was composed by Beatrice Thiriet along with Manish J Tipu. Cinematography was done by Sebastian Edschmid and editing by Bernd Euscher. The movie has a running time of 110 minutes.
