Raakh is a 1989 Hindi-language Crime Drama movie written by Aditya Bhattacharya and Nuzhat Khan. The movie is directed by Aditya Bhattacharya and produced by Asif Noor, Sangeeth Sivan and Aditya Bhattacharya. A poor, young man teams up with a burnt out cop to avenge the humiliation of his former girlfriend by a gang of goons. Raakh stars Aamir Khan in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Supriya Pathak, Pankaj Kapur, Jagdeep Syed, Naina Balsaver, Ahmed Khan and Nuzhat Khan. The music was composed by Ranjit Barot. Cinematography was done by Santosh Sivan and editing by A. Sreekar Prasad. The motion picture has a running time of 124 minutes. It was released on 1st January 1989. Raakh was made on a budget of ₹4 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹1 crore. At the 1989 National Film Awards It won an award for Best Supporting Actor (Pankaj Kapur).
