Red Planet is a 2000 English-language Action Sci-Fi movie written by Chuck Pfarrer and Jonathan Lemkin. The movie is directed by Antony Hoffman and produced by Bruce Berman and Mark Canton under the banner of Village Roadshow Pictures. Astronauts, and their robotic dog AMEE (Autonomous Mapping Evaluation and Evasion), search for solutions to save a dying Earth by searching on Mars, only to have the mission go terribly awry. Red planet features Val Kilmer, Carrie-anne Moss, Tom Sizemore, Benjamin Bratt, Simon Baker, Terence Stamp and Neil Ross. The music was composed by Graeme Revell. Cinematography was done by Peter Suschitzky and editing by Robert K. Lambert and Dallas Puett. The movie has a running time of 106 minutes. Red Planet was made on a budget of $80 million and at the box office it grossed only $33 million. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by Warner Bros. Pictures.
