Sarapancharam is a 1979 Malayalam-language Action Drama film written by T. Hariharan, K.t. Mohammed and Malayattoor Ramakrishnan. The movie is directed by T. Hariharan and produced by G. P. Balan. A rich woman has to pay a big price for the extramarital affair and remarriage with the horseman of her house. Sarapancharam features Jayan in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Sathaar, Nellikodu Bhaskaran, Sheela Antony, Kothuku Nanappan, Oduvil Unnikrishnan and Shankar Panicker. The screenplay is written by Hariharan. The music was composed by Devarajan. Cinematography was done by Melli Irani and editing by V. P. Krishnan. It was released on 22nd February 1979. The Film was successful at box office. Sarapancharam was made on a budget of ₹23 lakh and it was a super hit at box office gross of ₹75 lakh. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Angel Films.
