Shatranj is a 1956 Hindi-language Drama Family movie directed by Gyan Mukherjee. Shatranj features Ashok Kumar Ganguly in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Meena Kumari Bano, Nanda Vinayak, Rajendra Nath Malhotra, Lala Yaqoob, Jagdish Sethi and Leela Mishra. It was released on 1st January 1956. The Film was successful at box office. Shatranj was made on a budget of ₹2 crore and it was a hit at box office gross of ₹3 crore.
