Shruti Seridaga is a 1987 Kannada-language Drama film written by Singeetam Srinivasa Rao and Kumuda. The movie is directed by Chi Dattaraj and Chi. Dattaraj and produced by Raghavendra Rajkumar under the banner of Nikhileshwari Cine Combines. Shruti Seridaga is based on the novel by Kumuda. It busts the myth of Astrology. Astrology Charts mention first wife of Dr Murthy (played by Dr Rajkumar) would die within an year of marriage. Learning this, TN Balakrishna, Madhavi's father cancels Madhavi's marriage with Murthy. Heartbroken Murthy eventually comes out of grief, marries his teacher's daughter Geetha, who goes on to leave for than an year and delivers a baby. Purandara Dasa's rhyme sakala grahabala neene sarasijaaksha (God graces each man much than the planets ever would) is pronounced as the theme. Shruti seridaga features Rajkumar in the lead role along with Balakrishna, K. S. Ashwath, Balkrishna, Geetha Vasan, Madhavi Sharma, Pandari Bai and Thoogudeepa Srinivas in supporting roles. The screenplay is written by Singeetam Srinivasa Rao and Chi. Udaya Shankar which is inspired from Paluku Paluku Olavu by Kumuda. The music was composed by T. G. Lingappa. Cinematography was done by V. K. Kannan and editing by P. Bhaktavatsalam. The movie has a running time of 160 minutes. It was released on 2nd June 1987.
