Shuga is a 2009 English-language Drama series written by Amanda Lane, Kemi Adesoye and Tunde Aladese. The series is directed by Teboho Mahlatsi, Angus Gibson and John Trengrove and produced by Desiree Markgraaff, Jonathan Curling, Chris Ihidero, Tope Oshin and Bose Oshin under the banner of The Bomb Shelter in collaboration with MTV Staying Alive Foundation Production , SmatMedia and Sunbow Productions. airing on MTV. Daring drama that follows the lives of a group of friends in Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa as they encounter love, lust, and the challenges that come with being young. Shuga features Lupita Nyong'o, Tiwa Savage, Ikubese Emmanuel, Okezie Morro, Maria Okanrende, Dorcas Shola Fapson and David Omwange.
