Sivaji is a 2007 Tamil-language Action Adventure motion picture written by S. Shankar, Sujatha Rangarajan and Swanand Kirkire. The movie is directed by S. Shankar and produced by M. S. Guhan and M. Saravanan under the banner of AVM Productions. Filming took place in various locations across Hyderabad, Spain, Italy, New York City, Pune and Chennai and also became the first Indian film to use Dolby Atmos surround sound technology. Sivaji features Rajnikanth, Shriya Saran, Vivek, Suman, Rajinikanth, Ala Aljundi and Uma Padmanabhan. The music was composed by Ar Rahman along with A. R. Rahman. Cinematography was done by K. V. Anand and editing by Anthony Gonsalves. The movie has a running time of 188 minutes. It was released on 13th June 2007. The Film was successful at box office. Sivaji was made on a budget of ₹70 crore and it was a hit at box office gross of ₹128 crore. Distribution rights for the movie were acquired by AVM Productions. At the 2008 South Filmfare Awards It won 7 awards including: Best Comic Actor (Vivek), Best Performance by an Actor in a Negative Role (Suman), Best Music Director, Best Comedian, Best Villain, Best Cinematographer and Best Art Director. At the 2008 National Film Awards It also won an award for Best Special Effects.
