Sixteen Candles is a 1984 English-language Comedy Romance motion picture written and directed by John Hughes and produced by Hilton A. Green, Michelle Manning and Ned Tanen under the banner of Universal Pictures in collaboration with Channel Productions. The sixteen-year-old has a crush on the most popular boy in school, and the geekiest boy in school has a crush on her. Sixteen candles stars Molly Ringwald in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Anthony Michael Hall, Michael Schoeffling, Haviland Morris, Gedde Watanabe, Paul Dooley and Carlin Glynn.
