Star is a 2001 Tamil-language Romance Action motion picture written by Praveen Gandhi and Praveen Kanth. The movie is directed by Praveen Gandhi and produced by Vijaykrishna under the banner of Sri Subajothi Movies. Murthy earns his living by going to jail for the mistakes of other people. He agrees to act as Ramanathan's son, Santhosh, who is wanted dead by Dhanushkodi. Star stars Raghuvaran in the title role along with Vijayakumar, Praveen Gandhi, Anoop Aravindan, Jyothika Sadanah and Prashanth Thiagarajan in supporting roles. The music was composed by Ar Rahman along with A. R. Rahman. Cinematography was done by Priyan and editing by M. N. Rajan. The motion picture has a running time of 168 minutes.
