Strange Wilderness is a 2008 English-language Adventure Comedy film written by Peter Gaulke and Fred Wolf. The movie is directed by Fred Wolf and produced by Adam Sandler, Jack Giarraputo, Allen Covert and Peter Gaulke under the banner of Level 1 Entertainment in collaboration with Happy Madison Productions. When his father dies, Peter Gaulke inherits Strange Wilderness, dad's TV show about animals. After ratings plummet and the show is canceled, we watch a long flashback to its demise. The studio head gives the show two weeks. An old friend brings a story about Bigfoot in Ecuador, so a long road trip ensues with stops along the way and enough problems, misjudgments, and deaths to sink a less intrepid band. Peter's team faces competition from a better-funded and practiced set of rivals. Who will find Bigfoot first, and will they get it on tape and save the show? Can Peter make dad proud? Written by. Strange wilderness stars Steve Zahn in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Allen Covert, Jonah Hill, Kevin Heffernan, Ashley Scott, Peter Dante and Harry Hamlin. The music was composed by Waddy Wachtel. Cinematography was done by David Hennings and editing by Tom Costain. The film has a running time of 87 minutes. It was released on 24th July 2008. Strange Wilderness was made on a budget of $20 million and at the box office it grossed only $6 million. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Paramount Pictures.
