Supergirl is a 1984 English-language film directed by Jeannot Szwarc and produced by Timothy Burrill under the banner of Artistry in collaboration with Investors In Industry, Robert Fleming Leasing and St. Michael Finance. After losing a powerful orb, Kara Zor-El, Superman's cousin, comes to Earth to retrieve it and instead finds herself up against a wicked witch. Supergirl stars Faye Dunaway in the title role along with Helen Slater, Hart Bochner, Peter Cook, Mia Farrow, Marc Mcclure, Brenda Vaccaro and Peter O'toole in supporting roles. The screenplay is written by David Odell which is inspired from Supergirl by Otto Binder Al Plastino. The music was composed by Jerry Goldsmith. Cinematography was done by Alan Hume and editing by Malcolm Cooke. The film has a running time of 124 minutes. It was released on 7th March 1984. Supergirl was made on a budget of $35 million and at the box office it grossed only $14 million. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by TriStar-Fox Film Distributors.
