Superman is a 1980 Telugu-language Fantasy Musical movie written by V. Madhusudan Rao and Acharya Aatreya. The movie is directed by V. Madhusudan Rao and V. Madhusudhana Rao and produced by Ram Gopal Varma and R. Gopal under the banner of Lakshmi Vishnu Productions. This is the South Indian version of Superman. The hero, Babu, witnesses the murder of his parents by- get this- Cowboys.. Superman stars N. T. Rama Rao in the title role along with Jaya Prada, Taraka Rama Rao Nandamuri, Jayamalini, Satyanarayana Kaikala and Pandari Bai in supporting roles. The screenplay is written by V. Madhusudhana Rao. The music was composed by Chakravarthy. Cinematography was done by K. S. Prasad and editing by D. Venkataratnam. The film has a running time of 134 minutes. It was released on 10th July 1980.
