Thavaputhalvan is a 1972 Tamil-language Musical Drama film written by Thooyavan and directed by Muktha Srinivasan and produced by Muktha Ramaswamy under the banner of Muktha Films. Thavaputhalvan features Sivaji Ganesan, K. R. Vijaya, Pandari Bai, Shivaji Ganesan, Thikkurisi Sukumaran Nair, Gandhimathi and K.r. Vijaya. The music was composed by M. S. Viswanathan. Cinematography was done by N. S. Verma and editing by E. V. Shanmugam. The movie has a running time of 169 Minutes. It was released on 25th August 1972.
