The Adventures of Baron Munchausen is a 1989 English-language Adventure Comedy motion picture written by Charles Mckeown, Terry Gilliam, Gottfried August Bürger and Rudolph Erich Raspe. The movie is directed by Terry Gilliam and produced by Thomas Sch Hly under the banner of Allied Filmmakers in collaboration with Laura Film and Prominent Features. An account of Baron Munchausen's supposed travels and fantastical experiences with his band of misfits. The adventures of baron munchausen features John Neville in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Eric Idle, Sarah Polley, Oliver Reed, Uma Thurman, Jonathan Pryce and Charles Mckeown. The music was composed by Michael Kamen. Cinematography was done by Giuseppe Rotunno and editing by Peter Hollywood. The film has a running time of 126 minutes. It was released on 10th March 1989 and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. The Adventures of Baron Munchausen was made on a budget of $46 million and at the box office it grossed only $8 million. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by Columbia Pictures.
