The Burning Plain is a 2008 English-language Crime Drama film written and directed by Guillermo Arriaga and produced by Walter F. Parkes and Laurie Macdonald under the banner of Wild Bunch in collaboration with 2929 Productions. A drama with a two-tiered storyline concerning a mother and daughter who try to form a bond after the young woman's difficult childhood. The burning plain features Charlize Theron, Kim Basinger, Jennifer Lawrence, John Corbett, José María Yazpik, Robin Tunney and Malcolm Ullery. The music was composed by Omar Rodr Guez-l Pez along with Hans Zimmer. Cinematography was done by Robert Elswit. The film has a running time of 107 minutes. It was released on 7th November 2008.
