The Canal is a 2014 English-language Horror Mystery film written and directed by Ivan Kavanagh and produced by Annemarie Naughton under the banner of Park Films in collaboration with Treasure Entertainment and Western Edge Pictures. A depressed and stressed film archivist finds his sanity crumbling after he is given an old 16mm film reel with footage from a horrific murder that occurred in the early 1900's. The canal features Antonia Campbell-hughes in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Rupert Evans, Steve Oram, Hannah Hoekstra, Kelly Byrne, Calum Heath and Anneke Blok. The music was composed by Ceiri Torjussen. Cinematography was done by Piers McGrail and editing by Robin Hill. The movie has a running time of 92 minutes. It was released on 6th November 2014.
