The Castaway Cowboy is a 1974 English-language Family Comedy movie written by Don Tait and directed by Vincent Mceveety and produced by Ron Miller and Winston Hibler under the banner of Walt Disney Productions. A Texas cowboy is rescued at sea by a 12-year-old boy. While he waits to return home, he decides to help out his rescuer's family. The castaway cowboy stars James Garner, Vera Miles, Eric Shea, Robert Culp, Elizabeth Smith, Manu Tupou and Jerry Velasco. The music was composed by Robert F. Brunner. Cinematography was done by Andrew Jackson and editing by Cotton Warburton. The film has a running time of 91 minutes. It was released on 1st August 1974. Distribution rights for the film were acquired by Buena Vista Distribution.
