The Catcher Was a Spy is a 2018 English-language Biography Drama film written by Robert Rodat and directed by Ben Lewin and produced by Jim Youngs, Kevin Scott Frakes, Tatiana Kelly, Buddy Patrick and Jim Young under the banner of Animus Films in collaboration with PalmStar Media, Serena Films and Windy Hill Productions. A former major league baseball player, Moe Berg, goes undercover in World War II Europe for the Office of Strategic Services. The catcher was a spy stars Paul Rudd in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Mark Strong, Sienna Miller, Jeff Daniels, Tom Wilkinson, Giancarlo Giannini and Hiroyuki Sanada. The screenplay is written by Robert Rodat which is inspired from The Catcher Was a Spy by Nicholas Dawidoff. The music was composed by Academy Award Oscar winner Howard Shore.
