The Concubine is a 2012 Korean-language Drama History motion picture written by Yoon-jung Hwang, Dae-seung Kim, Mi-jung Kim, Hwang Yoon-jeong, Kim Dae-seung and Kim Mee-jung. The movie is directed by Dae-seung Kim and Kim Dae-seung and produced by Hwang Yoon-jeong. A tragic love triangle story between Hwa-Yeon, a daughter of a nobleman, her true love Kwon-Yoo, a servant and the man who will be King, Prince Sungwon. The concubine features Jo Yeo-jeong in the title role along with Kim Dong-wook, Kim Min-joon, Yeo-jeong Jo, Dong-wook Kim, Min-jun Kim, Ji-young Park and Eun-ji Jo in supporting roles. The music was composed by Jo Yeong-wook. Cinematography was done by Hwang Ki-seok and editing by Kim Sang-bum. The film has a running time of 122 minutes. It was released on 21st February 2012. The film made a box office gross of $16 million. Distribution rights for the movie were acquired by Lotte Entertainment.
