The Exorcism of Emily Rose is a 2005 English-language Drama Horror film written by Paul Harris Boardman and Scott Derrickson. The movie is directed by Scott Derrickson and produced by Tom Rosenberg, Gary Lucchesi, Paul Harris Boardman, Tripp Vinson and Beau Flynn under the banner of Lakeshore Entertainment in collaboration with Firm Films. The film is loosely based on the story of Anneliese Michel and follows a self-proclaimed agnostic who acts as defense counsel representing a parish priest , accused by the state of negligent homicide after he performed an exorcism. The exorcism of emily rose features Laura Linney in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Tom Wilkinson, Campbell Scott, Colm Feore, Jennifer Carpenter, Mary Beth Hurt and Henry Czerny.
