The insider stars Al Pacino in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Russell Crowe, Christopher Plummer, Diane Venora, Philip Baker Hall, Lindsay Crouse and Debi Mazar. The motion picture is based on The Man Who Knew Too Much by Marie Brenner. The music was composed by Lisa Gerrard along with Pieter Bourke. Cinematography was done by Dante Spinotti and editing by William Goldenberg, Paul Rubell and David Rosenbloom. The movie has a running time of 158 minutes. It was released on 16th March 2000 and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. The Insider was made on a budget of $90 million and at the box office it grossed only $60 million. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Buena Vista Pictures Distribution.
