The Iron Giant is a 1999 English-language Animation Action motion picture written by Tim Mccanlies, Brad Bird, Ted Hughes, Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. The movie is directed by Brad Bird and produced by Des Mcanuff and Allison Abbate under the banner of Warner Bros. Feature Animation. A young boy befriends a giant robot from outer space that a paranoid government agent wants to destroy. The iron giant features Jennifer Aniston in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Harry Connick Jr., Vin Diesel, James Gammon, Cloris Leachman, John Mahoney and Eli Marienthal. The screenplay is written by Tim McCanlies and Brad Bird which is inspired from The Iron Man by Ted Hughes. The music was composed by Michael Kamen. Cinematography was done by Steven Wilzbach and editing by Darren T. Holmes. The movie has a running time of 87 minutes. It was released on 6th August 1999 and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. The Iron Giant was made on a budget of $70 million and at the box office it grossed only $23 million. Distribution rights for the movie were acquired by Warner Bros. At the 2000 BAFTA Awards It won an award for Best Feature Film.
