The Kite Runner is a 2007 Dari-language Drama movie written by David Benioff and Khaled Hosseini. The movie is directed by Marc Forster and produced by William Horberg, Walter F. Parkes, Rebecca Yeldham and E. Bennett Walsh under the banner of Participant Productions in collaboration with Sidney Kimmel Entertainment, Parkes+MacDonald and Neal Street Productions. After spending years in California, Amir returns to his homeland in Afghanistan to help his old friend Hassan, whose son is in trouble. The kite runner features Khalid Abdalla in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Zekeria Ebrahimi, Ahmad Khan Mahmoodzada, Homayoun Ershadi, Atossa Leoni, Shaun Toub and Sayed Jafar Masihullah Gharibzada. The screenplay is written by David Benioff which is inspired from The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. The music was composed by Alberto Iglesias. Cinematography was done by Roberto Schaefer and editing by Matt Chesse. The movie has a running time of 128 minutes. It was released on 31st January 2008 in Dari,English and Urdu languages. The Film was successful at box office. The Kite Runner was made on a budget of $20 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $73 million.
