The Legend of the Holy Drinker is a 1988 Italian-language Drama film. An alcoholic homeless man is given two hundred francs by a stranger, who requests that when he can he will return the money to Saint Therese in the cathedral. The legend of the holy drinker features Rutger Hauer in the title role along with an ensemble cast including Anthony Quayle, Sandrine Dumas, Dominique Pinon, Sophie Segalen, Jean-maurice Chanet and Cécile Paoli. It was released on 2nd September 1988.
