The Line is a 2009 English-language Action Crime film directed by Brad Furman and produced by Sidney Kimmel, Tom Rosenberg, Gary Lucchesi, Richard Wright and Scott Steindorff under the banner of Lakeshore Entertainment in collaboration with Sidney Kimmel Entertainment and Stone Village Pictures. Officer Carter Shaw and his team go undercover - sometimes too deep, among the criminals of modern-day Los Angeles. The line features Matthew Mcconaughey in the lead role along with an ensemble cast including Marisa Tomei, Ryan Phillippe, Josh Lucas, John Leguizamo, Michael Pe A and Bob Gunton. The screenplay is written by John Romano which is inspired from The Lincoln Lawyer by Michael Connelly. The music was composed by Cliff Martinez. Cinematography was done by Lukas Ettlin and editing by Jeff McEvoy. The film has a running time of 118 minutes. It was released on 21st December 2011. The Line was made on a budget of $40 million and at the box office it grossed only $2 million. Distribution rights for the motion picture were acquired by Lionsgate.
